Running with Grace - Why Compression leggings are a must in your workout wardrobe

Sometimes I run for time, feel good and push the pace, other times I run because it makes me feel good.


Running triggers the release of endorphins which is known to improve the quality of mental and emotional life – sometimes referred to as the runners high. Introduced to track running aged 7 I’ve grown up hooked on endorphins, striving for faster times and pushing my boundaries, but an accident aged 22 gave me a new found appreciation for simply being able to run.


It doesn’t matter how fast you’re going or how far you go, simply being able to run is a blessing and good leggings to run in is essential!


At Natural Grace we have some non-negotiables when it comes to leggings. They should not be sliding down constantly (one way to ruin a perfectly good run..), they must be squat proof, no one needs to see that (no matter how peachy your bum is..) and you should feel great in them too.

Many athletes opt to wear compression leggings, they’re a tighter fit and have reputed benefits for blood flow and recovery. Compression leggings are a very intelligent choice for all everyday workouts, for multiple reasons:


The Runners High

Compression leggings can give you an extra spring in your step, research shows they improve ‘running economy’ and increase the oxygen levels in your blood, which runners feel improve their performance. Our Kamala and Harriet Leggings are laser cut for breathability, sweatwick and highly compressive, the prefect blend for pushing yourself just a little bit faster. Some people choose to wear compression leggings post working out to aid recovery, here at Natural Grace we tend to wear them all day everyday, but this has more to do with them being so soft (and bum sculpting..)


Confidence - Feel Supported

For starters slipping on a pair of our compression leggings make you feel like you have worked out before you’ve even actually lifted a finger. Preventing Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)

Research has found that compressive leggings can reduce the systems of DOMS. By minimising shakes in our leg muscles, they reduce muscle fatigue (so you can still go out for a dance post leg day…). Studies have found they speed up recovery time and reduce the risk of injury, so it's a win-win.
